I've Been A Little Neglectful...And Check Out This Senior! | Snyder Senior Photography

I've been neglectful of my poor little blog lately! I promise to do my best to catch up as soon as I can! Not to give excuses, but life has been so stinkin' hectic here lately! I've been up to some really exciting things, and I can't wait to share them with you.

First off, my little family has been busy with house hunting. We're on the hunt! We've been looking for a long time now, and just recently we've gone through several strong steps towards several houses, but we haven't gone as far as we have at this moment. We're feeling very confident in our latest development, and if it works out, I will be sharing our journey with you! Things are about to get much more personal, and a heck of a lot more fun!

Secondly, I personally have been busy expanding my knowledge of one of my most favorite things in the world - my photography! I was recently a part of the Bloom Workshop. My good friend, Kim Rollwitz and I took to this adventure together to grow in our photography, not only for our clients, but for ourselves! I learned so much, and I wouldn't trade my experience (or my roomie!) for anything! Many thanks to Kim for taking on this adventure with me - I had a blast! I soon will be sharing my experience there with you all. :)

Thirdly, I have been busy in a business sense. I recently changed up my branding (namely my logo), and while I really liked the logo with the dots a lot, I felt it wasn't *exactly* me. It was close, but I will venture to say, it was a work in progress. I have since removed the dots from the logo I put on my portraits on my blog. Soon, I will be transitioning the rest of my blog and my website into my new simplified logo. It just fits me like a glove now! Not to mention all the new sessions I have been busy with! I just want to throw it out there how much I LOVE my clients. You are all so wonderful, and I love and appreciate you!

Well, now that I've got those things off of my chest (phew!) I want to share the fabulous Vanessa with you! This gorgeous girl is a senior at Snyder High, and she was so fun and vivacious to work with. We worked our way around Abilene with a her friends Christian and Jana (who I MUST thank for the referral! Thanks Jana!). We had a blast hanging in alleys, playing around with very cool, very retro VW beetles and Fastbacks that the Abilene auto club brought out while we were running around, oh yeah, the VERY cool abandoned building that we found.

Sorry for the incredibly long blog post, but I am SOOO excited to share these things with you all! Thanks again, Vanessa and gal pals for the incredibly fun session!

Little Miss Eden

This little cutie is Eden, and I had a wonderful time with her family running around town getting some family shots. These are some of my favorite family images ever! I love the brick stairs and standing under the trees! After we finished with their family portraits, we went back to their home and pulled out the prettiest little jewelry box full of pearls and of course, a beautiful pink ballerina dancing to music. What little girl doesn't have a pretty jewelry box without a ballerina?! I thoroughly enjoyed watching her play with the pearls, grasping for the ballerina, and looking at herself in the mirror. Such a beautiful girl with gorgeous red hair!

Thanks again Heidi and Scott for inviting me into your beautiful home and allowing me to capture images of your sweet baby girl! I look forward to many more sessions with you!

Sweet Maryn | Sweetwater Newborn Photography

Hickey Family | San Angelo Family Photography, San Angelo Maternity Photography

One day before Christmas, I received a phone call from a girl in San Angelo who wanted some maternity portraits taken by me. That girl was Alec, and can I just tell you how extremely excited I was?! Isn't she gorgeous?! I've been hoping and praying for a maternity session to come along sometime soon, and low and behold, Alec and family. :)

However, the day was not without it's issues. I spent the night before at my mother's house in San Angelo, and I had hung out with my good photog friend Kim Rollwitz that night until almost 1 a.m. We had seen lightning in the distance, but I blew it off. It was to the south and east, I was good.

Wrong.

Ha! When I finally climbed into bed, there was a slight sprinkle going on outside. Okay, sprinkle is okay. However, the downpour at 2:30 was NOT okay. Yikes! Soggy ground, wet locations, cold weather, oh it was just giving me everything I didn't need to happen before a session. But baby, let me tell ya, we still pulled it off! I'm so glad we did too; I'm loving a LOT of these portraits!

Alec, her hubby Brandon, their daughter, Jaycee, and I had quite a time. It was just a little too cold for Jaycee to hang out with us too much, but I'm hoping for a second opportunity with that sweet face when she and her parents welcome Jaxson this spring. I can only imagine how handsome that little man is going to be with parents as gorgeous as this!

Alec & Brandon - Thank you so much for having me - I had a blast hanging out with you guys and getting to know you! I hope you find a few to grace your walls and Jaxson's baby book!

Fullwood Family | Roscoe Family Photography

Here's the second session that was taken after Christmas 2010 but wasn't ready until the first day or two of 2011. I've known the Fullwoods since before they were the Fullwoods! Ashlee and Jake went to the same jr. high/high school, and I've seen them grow together, grow in love, and grow in family twice! They're such an amazing family, and I am so blessed to get to consider them friends and clients.

The weather didn't exactly cooperate with us. Originally, it was suppose to be 64 degrees and sunny, then it was suppose to be rainy, and while it decided not to rain on us, it did decide to be cold. MISERABLY cold. So cold we didn't get as much with the boys as I wanted, so we'll be revisiting in May when they are back in for his sister's high school graduation. I'm thrilled with getting to work with them again - I am so excited to get these two boys out in the warm spring sunshine and play!

Thank you to Ashlee and Jake for braving the cold! Glad you made it home safe, and I can't wait until May!

Two Crews of Fun!

Ok, so technically, these two sessions were in 2010, but they were not ready until after the new year, so I'm saying these are the first portraits of 2011! I'm so looking forward to this year; I have so many amazing things planned!

This first crew is the Bromley bunch. What a family! Susan, mom and grandmother, and her husband Tim, gathered two of their kids and their families for this session. Brandon, her son, is a twin, along with his wife Kassie and their three boys. Brittnie is her one and only daughter, with her husband William and daughter Raeghan. She also told me during the session she has ANOTHER set of TWIN boys! Holy cow! I was completely impressed. Any woman able to handle two sets of twins is a hero in my book! I can hardly keep up with my one! I shared many laughs with this crew as we strolled around Roscoe in search of different spots to stop and snap a few. Thank you Susan, for having me! I hope to work with you all again in the future, and I hope you enjoy these!

Aren't these couples too cute? Just beautiful people! I love how Brittnie and William are laughing. It was such a sweet moment!

Blown Away

You read that right. I decided to do a "2010 favorites in review", and I was so blown away at how blessed I truly am. I don't know if I've expressed how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to document such wonderful moments in so many different lives. Moments of great happiness as couples have fallen in love and made promises; moments of pure bliss and joy in anticipation and upon the arrival of a new baby; moments of everyday cheerfulness of a mother and father watching their children grow up before them; moments of excitement, happiness, and anxiousness (not to mention a few maternal tears!) of a number of graduating high school seniors; even moments of realization that every woman is beautiful and sexy in her own way.

So just in case I haven't mentioned it before, THANK YOU. You each are very special to me in so many different ways, and I can never thank you all enough for trusting me to capture your moments and share them. 2010 was definitely a wonderful year for my photography business, and I am so grateful that you were all a part of it!

Kaelynn, Take Two | Sweetwater Baby Photography

This sweet six month-old has graced my blog before! Kaelynn and her mommy Kristin are such beautiful models, and I just couldn't get enough of that sweet little face. What can I say? My camera loved her. :) What's not to love about this gorgeous little sweetie? Not to mention what a kind and beautiful mommy. Kristin's mom drove us around looking for the perfect places, but my favorites are the first in front of my family's feed store quansit doors, and the last ones with the beautiful brick and black concrete. Gorgeous!!

Thank you for having me back again! Can't wait for those 1 year portraits!

Sipe Family | Rotan Family Photography

Where to begin?! This crew is FUUUUN! I wasn't quite sure what to expect this Sunday afternoon when I was on my trek to Rotan for a family session. Boy was I in for it! I can't get over all of the gorgeous faces in this family. Every single one of them! They were so much fun, so spontaneous, willing to try just about anything, and even picked out their own locations! *Sigh* I love clients that know what they want!

The first set of pictures was taken at Buffy's grandfather's barn, and the other half were taken at her great-grandfather's old gas station. I love it when history is in portraits; it gives them so much meaning! However, I don't think any of us knew the adventure we were in for.

The barn is completely enclosed in fencing to give the family donkeys shelter. As soon as we were all in the gate, we were promptly greeted by the four adorable creatures - two black donkeys, Scooby and Matthew, one paint, Mariah, and one miniature, Leon. They were on us like white on rice! Poor Britt had to keep running them off, and at one point was on Mariah's back...LOL! I wasn't fast enough to catch that particular "sitting", but I did catch one of him poking her in the rear end with a BIG stick, and then another with Madi and Kloe riding her bareback! We also at one point discovered what the donkeys were really after - a bright orange football Kade and Kallen had brought along. I figured they thought it was some sort of food, since they were brought pumpkins while we were there. It was so funny watching them throw that thing around though!

Thanks again for all the fun, Corn-Sipe crew! Injuries and invasions - just the way I like my sessions - adventurous!

Wilburn Family | Sweetwater Family Photography

I feel so priviledged to do what I do. I absolutely love photography, especially when it means getting together with someone that I haven't seen or hung out with in a long time. I know I talk about this in just about every post, but it's absolutely true! Cayley is one of those special people.

When my mom, sister, and I first moved to Sweetwater (when I was 7), Cayley became one of my apartment neighborhood friends. I can remember playing Zelda with this girl! Ha! That totally shows my age, but oh well. :) She's now a kindergarten teacher, and an amazing one at that, and she has a pretty spectacular husband and an adorable little man named Caden to boot! Lucky me, I got the honor of taking their family portraits.

It didn't come without West Texas setbacks though. LOL! The first scheduled date was rained out and was too muddy. The second date was cancelled due to wind. Only in West Texas. :) However, third time was definitely a charm!

Cayley, thanks again for asking me! I hope there are at least a few that you love!

Quardaysha | New Year Girl #4 | Sweetwater Senior Photography

Quardaysha contacted me on Facebook one day requesting that I take her NYG portraits for her, and I am so glad she did! I enjoyed meeting her and her mother and walking around downtown Sweetwater looking for different spots to jump in and snap a few shots. She seemed so shy, but eventually I got her laughing and found her beautiful natural smile, and off we went!

Laney | New Year Girl #3 | Sweetwater Senior Photography

If you know Miss Laney from Sweetwater High, you certainly know one of the kindest teenagers on this Earth. She was so sweet and so polite. She obviously gets it from her mom, Tania, who tagged along with us for Laney's session. We decided to head over to C-City for the session, and I don't know that there could've been a better decision! I have to say, I L.O.V.E. the ones in front of the multicolor windows. Gorgeous or gorgeous?!

Tania and Laney were on the ball; Laney wore a black long sleeve shirt and brought several jackets, vests, and other things to put on over. Smart girls! This made changing outfits super easy, considering I didn't have to pull out my tent to allow her to change. We had a wonderful time, and I'm blessed to have met these two wonderful women.

Laney and Tania, thank you so much for asking me to take your NYG portraits for you, and I look forward to seeing which ones you choose for your two 8x10s!

Madison | New Year Girl #2 | Sweetwater Senior Photography

Sweet Madison was my second candidate for New Year Girl this year! Boy, have I been blessed with not only beautiful, but the most kind nominees this year. I met Madison at her parents' house, and after a "quick" tour of their new home (YAY!), Madison and I set out on the blustery windy day to take her NYG pics. By the end of the session, we both were almost rolling with laughter because at that point, the wind was blowing so hard, it was either laugh or cry!

Thank you so much dear Madison for having me as your photographer this year! You are absolutely beautiful inside and out, and you and your family are very dear to my heart! Hope you find just the right one to turn in, and good luck doll!

Sarah | New Year Girl #1 | Sweetwater Senior Photography

In case you were wondering where it all started for me, this beautiful girl was pretty close to it! Sarah, a senior this year at good ole Sweetwater High, was my first ever New Year Girl nominee, and was one of my first clients! My first "professional" session was her family portraits, and then we did her NYG pics after that. I'm so grateful to this family for sticking with me and being such WONDERFUL clients! I couldn't have been more thrilled to find out she'd been nominated again, and that she wanted me to take her headshots. :)

Isn't she absolutely gorgeous?! Miss Sarah is as sweet as she is beautiful, and I truly hope I captured as much of her inner beauty as I did her outer beauty. We had lots of fun at my family's old feed store and out in my grandmother's field. Sarah absolutely loved the chair I happened upon at the furniture store (thank you to the gentleman at Gallery who allowed me to borrow it before taking it home for lawn furniture, as well as loading it into my car for me!) and the grass. I will admit, I am a fan. :)

Brittany & Zach | E-Session | Roscoe Engagement Photography

If EVER there were a session that it could be said, "They did their homework", THIS is IT.

Meet Brittany and Zach. Holy WOW. For the not-so-great weekend I was having on Saturday, Sunday blew it out of the water. The outfits. The props. The research. They had it going on! Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is what it looks like when you have done a little homework and researched what you want out of your session. Please don't ever feel that you will offend me by bringing your ideas to me! If you see it and like it, let me know, and we'll do our best to make it yours!

So back to B & Z. Of course, here's that same small town speech - Zach is a classmate from high school; Brittany is the same age as my sister, and were good friends in elementary school. But how did Zach meet Brittany? Cute story. :)

They met in a bar in Lubbock. Afterwards, Brittany decides to friend Zach on FB. Brittany admits to stalking his number off of his Facebook, even though she told Zach she got it from her friend/Zach's sister-in-law. They talk. They talk long time. They begin dating.

The incredibly romantic part? The journal. Brittany, the rambunctious little thing she is, was working at the Sundance Festival in Utah, while Zach was busy with work in Houston. The journal was mailed between the two of them, containing love letters in one bound book. So when B came back, the romance was obviously still very much alive. Fast forward a bit ---- Sneaky Z takes B out to dinner and the Symphony. He carries with him a box, but one that is bigger than a ring box. Gah. Sneaky. He even went to the Galleria mall and purchased B's dress for the evening from BCBG. I don't know many, if any, other guys that would do that. Anyway, so he holds onto this box throughout the evening. Dinner, symphony, but instead of returning to their awaiting fancy hotel room, they take a walk. At this point, I'm told B complains about her feet hurting because of her shoes, and Z telling her not much further, and throws in the quick, "I told you not to wear those shoes!" Haha! They come up to a gazebo, where Zach, aka Mr. Sneaky, gives her the box. The girl, to boy's dismay, squats to open the box. I'm pretty sure Zach said at this point that he wasn't sure what to do, so he knelt down, asked her to stand up, and took the ring out of his pocket and asked her for his hand. But he didn't just ask her. He had written it out in the journal, so she read the latest journal entry. "Will you marry me Smallz?"

Love it.

Oh, yes, and before I forget, there are MANY thank you's for this session. Thank you to the wildly creative Lisa Fullwood, Zach's mom, who painted the Save The Date door and board. She never ceases to amaze me. Thanks to Katy Fullwood and Amanda Fullwood, B's future sis-in-laws, for their assistance. And a very special thank you to Randy and Brittany Lloyd of Lloyd Ranch, for allowing us to get snap-happy on their GORGEOUS ranch. Who knew such a beautiful place could be found near Maryneal?! Thanks again! Thank you, Zach and Brittany, for allowing me to run with the ideas you brought to me, for allowing me to capture this special moment for you, and for being such a bright spot after such a horrible day! You two have totally made my day, over and over!

Tyler | Birthday Session | Sweetwater Child Photography

I was recently contacted by Billie, this handsome young man's mom, not too long ago requesting some 8th birthday portraits. I had no idea what I was in for! My little boy is only three, so I have little experience with 7-8 year olds. This little big guy was so helpful, and I couldn't help but giggle. He started out a little shy, but when I asked him how many times he wanted me to click his picture, he said, "Hmm. 5 times!!" So off we went. And of course, as 7-8 year olds go, that number quickly grew. The next thing I knew, he wanted me to take 22 consecutive pictures of the same pose! LOL! My camera won't even do that, come to find out! Regardless, he was quite the character, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing his giggle and capturing his sweet smile (that I worked REALLY hard for!). We got really creative at ACU, did several fun shots, including one of him laying on the wall behind a staircase rail, but I have to say, the one next to the wood post down at the Labrynth is my favorite. :)

Billie - Thanks again for asking me to stop this moment in time for you in portraits! We'll have to do it again next year :) Hope there's at least a few you love!

Upchurch Family | Dallas Family Photography

Here's another "session" from my recent excursion to DFW! This was technically my first session (all the pictures in the black clothing), but due to traffic from the UT/OU game (oye vey) and the state fair, we didn't have much sunlight left when I finally reached Dallas. So, we agreed to meet again Sunday morning, and I'm SOOOOO glad we did!

Sunday morning I was feeling much better than I had been on Friday, after a full day of driving from Sweetwater to San Angelo to drop off my little guy at my mom's house, then the back-country route back up to I-20 to get to Dallas. Yikes! That was a LONG day, and the traffic made it even longer.

Sunday was so much better though! The light was obviously better, and with our location, it made for much prettier portraits! One problem though - Aiden had a busted lip. OYE. LOL! Eh, not much a little Photoshop can't fix!

Kelly is a friend of mine from when I worked for Cingular in college. We use to have so much fun together! Of course, life led us in different directions, and Kel, with Kristen in tow, headed back to her hometown near Dallas, and I moved back to good old Sweetwater to marry my wonderful husband, which put us at a considerable distance apart. Needless to say, I'm so glad Kelly jumped at the chance for a session with me when I mentioned I was headed up that way! It was so good getting to see her, see how much Kristen had grown (who was an infant when I left Cingular!), and meet Aiden! Aren't they super cute kids?! I think so. :)

Thanks again Kel! I loved it, and I hope to get to see you again next time I'm up that way - just don't ask me to drive through Dallas!! ;)

...before I fall victim to strep throat. Yikes! My poor little family is being hit fairly hard at the moment with the nasties. Little Man K started us off on Friday (while I was gone on a trip to DFW), and while in his care, we think the Big D must have caught it as well. Yuck. And guess what? I'm thinking I may be next. Exhaustion has worn down my immunities I suppose. However, before I become completely surrounded by this vicious little infection, I thought I would post a few previews of what all happened in the big D this past weekend. How do I describle Lil' Mister Bair? Adorable. Squeezable. Loveable. All of the wonderful "ables" a kid can be! Bair is now one, and it was time for some one-year portraits! We set out early one Sunday morning to snap a few of this handsome little man before church, and he was SOOO good! At one point (the pics where he's crawling straight towards the camera), he was completely focused on getting his hands on that flickering lens! When he got to me, which at 1 didn't take him long, he sat right in my lap and looked at that adorable face on my display screen with such interest. He had to make sure I was capturing his good side I suppose. :)

Thanks again, Bri and Blake, for meeting me so early! I had a wonderful time; we'll have to do this more often!

Beautiful Blue Eyed Princess Peyton | Sweetwater Child Photography

I (finally!) got to meet up with Brandie and Jarrod and their darling daughter, Peyton, for a session after several scheduling attempts. Peyton (as all one year olds are!) was very fun to try to keep up with! I would juuuust get into position, and she was gone! Haha! Regardless, we had a wonderful time, and got quite a few cute pictures out of the ordeal. I also had the opportunity to get to know Brandie and Jarrod a little more, which was really great considering what wonderful people they are. They both work in the school system, so I've seen Jarrod quite a bit in the hallways and chatted for short trips from one room to the next as a sub, but I hadn't really gotten the chance to ever chat with Brandie since she had been off on maternity leave the few times I was at her school. I'm so glad I did! I really enjoyed it! I really love my job - it introduces me to SOOO many people with different walks of life, and many of those very people end up being new friends.

Thanks again, Brandie, for asking me to take Peyton's pictures! I hope you and your family love these!

Rachael | Ft. Worth Bridal Photography

This is my gorgeous friend, Rachael. Although she's been married almost as long as I have, she never had her bridals done. Before her wedding, about the time when most brides would have their bridals done, the poor girl had mono. Then, catastrophe struck on their honeymoon when she and her husband were involved in a scooter accident in Mexico, and not too long after they got home, they were blessed with the pregnancy of their first child. Needless to say, it just never got done! Until this summer. :)

Rachael and I met in college, and got to know each other fairly well after spending a month together in Spain and attending several Spanish courses together. Whenever we're together, there's sure to be some trouble stirred up, and LOTS of laughs and giggles along the way. We're both sarcastic, witty, and well, we kind of think each other are fairly hilarious. Good times. :) Too bad there is such a distance between us now that keeps us from getting together too much. Sad face. BUT, we did get to spend this long day together in Ft. Worth, and then the next weekend came along, and we did some outdoor boudoir photos, so we spent almost two whole days together, and laughed and laughed and laughed. Big smile. :)

Rach, I hope you love these, and I miss you so much already!

Ah, these girls were F-U-N! These beautiful young ladies are the Rotan Jr. High cheerleaders, and they have some SPIRIT! I had to giggle everytime they started getting deep into conversation - Oh the things these preteens talk about!

Such Beautiful Babes | Avery & Bryce | Paint Rock Children Photography

Meet Avery and Bryce. Aren't these children absolutely gorgeous? I can't get over Avery's beautiful skintone and Bryce's soft brown eyes. They're both such good children too, did exactly what I asked of them, and they weren't whiney and complaining about getting done. They were WONDERFUL children. Angela, just like Denise, was so nice too, and come to find out, her mom was a teacher from my alma mater! Small world. :) Special thanks to her parents, especially her dad, for inviting me out to their beautiful ranch and helping me with the chair that you will soon see. Their mom Angela and Jaden and RyRy's mom Denise are best friends, so after I did J&RR's pictures, Angela contacted me about doing A&Bs. D had told A that we had gone to another town to take the boys pictures, and A knew exactly where she wanted to go.

There's a cute little white church in a small town called Paint Rock that was built by Angela's great-great-great-grandfather (I hope I got that right!). The church is still in use (the congregation started showing up as we were finishing up outside!), and it's amazing inside as well as out. We also stopped by the parents store, and I will definitely have to go back to look around for a few hours sometime in the future, since I really didn't have time while I was there.

Thanks again, Angela and family! I had a wonderful time! I hope these are what you hoped for!

Fun in the Summer Sun | Whitney | Abilene Bridal Photography

This soon-to-be Mrs. is Whitney, and her sister, mom, herself, and I had a blast taking these bridals. These girls are F-U-N to be around. We shared quite a few laughs and just had quite the morning running around Abilene to take these bridals.

Whitney is getting married at the end of the month in Cancun, and while I can't say I'm not disappointed I won't be photographing this wedding (dang it!), I am so pleased that I was chosen for her bridals. What a beauty she is! I can imagine that if I hadn't gotten married in Vegas (yes, you read that right), I would have loved a gown like this one. So pretty! And what a trooper she is - I forgot my changing room tent (along with several other issues that morning, including locking myself out of the house...sheesh.), and the poor girl changed in the bathroom at Target. She took it in stride though, and I'm still giggling about the little old lady that just HAD to know the details and tell Whit how beautiful she was...in the Target bathroom. LOL. Thanks again ladies for putting up with my scatterbrain!

Whitney - I hope your wedding goes without a hitch, and that you and Garrett enjoy yourselves in that tropical paradise! Best of luck to you and your families, and I can't wait to catch up with you on all the details once you get back! I hope you find a few that you love amongst these, and I can't wait to show you the rest!

As seen previously, this wedding has been a long time in coming! Summertime in the Womble household is always crazy, and this summer has been no exception.

J & S's wedding was mid-June, and as hot as it was (just 110, no biggie!), you could still feel the love in the air. The flowers, the decor, the smells, everything, it all just seemed to radiate with some form of love. It was absolutely beautiful. It was so magical seeing the love pouring from these to families and their many friends. I couldn't hardly take it all in - all the details had been carefully planned and everything was immaculately decorated. A photographer's dream!

J & S - Thanks so much for being so patient with me - summertime is crazy in this house! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and spend time with you both; you all are wonderful people, and I'm so blessed and proud to call you my friends! Thanks again for having me, I enjoyed every minute of your special day and I'm incredibly honored to have been a part of it!

If you've been wondering what I've been up to here lately, now you know. I've been busy with a few boudoir sessions, and boy did I ever enjoy it! There's nothing like a boudoir session - for a special gift for your husband or just for yourself!

Seriously, I have THE most beautiful friends. I'm sure you remember Melinda and Kim, my dear friends who dove in to my boudoir photography, and how gorgeous they both are. Well, this is my friend, Krista, who happens to be pregnant with her first and asked if I would be interested in taking her maternity portraits. Uh, YEAH! We had so much fun catching up, we almost lost sight of taking pictures. Almost. ;) I was so super excited just to get to see her, and then to top it off with getting to take her portraits, well, that was the icing on the cake. We were best of friends in jr. high as cheerleaders together (I know that is probably hard to believe on my part by most, but yes, at one time, I was a cheerleader), and for a while there, we lived two doors away from each other. So to say the least, I've really missed this girl! Since high school, she has since graduated with her nursing degree, and will be finishing up her masters degree soon and will become a nurse practitioner! I couldn't be more proud of my dear friend. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to meet her husband, who is a sergeant in the Army and at the time was away for training, but maybe I'll catch him before he deploys when I hopefully will be in to do some newborn portraits of their little girl, Kaelynn. Yep, that will be my second little baby girl named Kaelynn in a row!

Kris, thanks again for coming to see me and for asking me to do your portraits! I hope you and Chad enjoy the last few weeks of your pregnancy, best of luck, and here's hoping you have a wonderful birth experience! I cannot wait to meet your baby girl!

Sleeping Beauty | Kaelynn | Sweetwater Newborn Photography

Isn't she beautiful? World, meet Kaelynn. Such a sweet little soul. So soft, so tiny, so adorable. I could cuddle her all day. She slept so beautifully for the first part of our session. She had a full tummy and she stayed warm for quite a while. Halfway through, she started getting a little upset, and lo and behold, she's cold from having a small accident on the blanket, and, well, that girl was hungry (again!). She settled back in a little, and Mom, Grandma, and I squeezed in a few more shots, and then she was done.

I LOVE newborns. They're typically very easy to work with, and it's always so beautiful to see a new mother and child together. This session was no exception! Kristin, who is a first time mom, seems to have it all under control, and pretty much has her child figured out. Kaelynn was only 2.5 weeks at our session, but Kristin (as most mothers do), knew so much about her child. Little K sleeps with her hands at her face. Period. I got very lucky and got a couple of shots where they weren't at her face, but as you can see, there are many that have her hands right there at her face. Not that I'm complaining; she's cute no matter what!

Kristin - You're new little princess is absolutely adorable! Thank you so much for inviting me into your home and allowing me to have the privilege of capturing the memories of this very short but incredibly sweet time (and person!) in your life. I hope there are several you love!

A Beautiful Bride!

World, meet Laura. Isn't she stunningly beautiful? That's what I thought as soon as the pictures loaded on my computer from the CD.

Whaaaa?

Yes, on the computer was the first time I laid eyes on these shots. Why? Because I didn't take these pictures. Why? Because I was at a certain 3 year old little boy's birthday party. Oh wait, I was hosting it. Yes, my son is now three, and I was super disappointed that K's birthday party was the same day as Laura's "dress rehearsal". My mother gifted this session to Laura and her fiance, but the day that she was in town taking care of wedding things (such as picking up her finished dress, trying out her hairdo, nails, etc.) just didn't work for me. So, instead of fretting or losing out, I called my most wonderful photog friend Kim of KR Fotos, and we talked and decided that since she was available, she would snap the shots, and I would edit. So please take notice, I DID NOT TAKE THESE BEAUTIFUL PICTURES, but I did edit them, and regardless, I am super, SUPER proud of them. They. Are. GORGEOUS. I am so thankful for such a wonderful friend in Kim. I will be repaying the favor come July, and I'm so excited! We'll also be doing a second session with Laura, her fiance, and her son sometime in the near future, and I have to say, I'm pretty stoked about that one as well! Laura's fiance was a player for the San Angelo Colts semi-pro baseball team, and my little brother's baseball "tutor" (for lack of better words), thus the reason Laura went all out with bat, ball, glove, and jersey! Super cute, right? I LOVE the autographed ball with Laura's soon-to-be new last name! So anyways, go to Kim's blog & leave her some snapping love! Thanks again Kim!

Laura - I cannot wait to meet you and show you all that Kim captured! They're pretty awesome if you ask me! Hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

How I LOVE Seniors!

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. I LOVE photographing seniors. They are the easiest clients EVER. Joshua was no exception. What a wonderful young man he is. The day after graduation, he's becoming an official Eagle Scout. This is quite the accomplishment I found out (after a little research of my own), so many congrats to him! He's also planning on attending college, possibly at Angelo State, and pursuing a degree in accounting, as well as keeping plenty of time for skateboarding on his calendar. He was so pleasant to be around, and we had quite a few laughs throughout the evening!

We had quite the time riding around the Pear Tree Game Ranch, which as you will see, is a GORGEOUS property. Thank you so much to Joshua's dad, Steve, and the rest of the staff for allowing me to come out! I enjoyed it more than you know!

Oh, What Fun!

Can I just say how thrilled I am to be photographing this awesome couple not once, but TWICE?! Jon and Stefanie are too fun! I am so incredibly blessed to have these two people as clients and now friends. I met up with them and Stefanie's mother, Glenda (hope that's spelled right!), yesterday for their engagement session in C-City, which just happens to be one of the best places ever for photography in my opinion! There are so many treasures over there! We had such a wonderful time hanging out, joking around, and laughing that the time absolutely flew by. When we finished, I said, "It's what, 7:30?" They both said, "Yeah, probably." I got in the good ole Jeep, and it was 8:30. Whoops! Sorry hubby! It was well worth it though! We captured some AMAZING sunset silhouettes out on the lake. We also battled a little wind, but we survived that as well. :)

Be on the lookout come early- to mid-June for this beautiful couple's wedding, which will also be out at their lake cabin!

Jon, Stefanie, and Glenda - I had an absolute blast hanging out with you and getting to know you! I hope you find MANY that you love!

I was pretty disappointed when I noticed that this image wasn't as sharp as I wanted it to be, but I'm still thrilled with the way it turned out. After some sharpening, it's still not perfect, but that's kind of what I like about it!

Beautiful Blue Eyed Girl

Hallelujah for wonderful weather! Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day, especially for some senior pictures with a gorgeous blue-eyed girl! Kayla and her mom Stacey met up with me yesterday for some fun-in-the-sun senior pics, and I was so thrilled with how they turned out when I got home and got them on my editing software. There are so many awesome shots, I've had quite the time being "picky" and choosing just the right ones.

These two women are just amazing. They have incredible style in my opinion. I know Stacey from Cox Jewelers, from the many times I've been in there for different jewelry and gift needs. They're always very willing to do whatever I need done! Stacey, along with Kayla's help, designs all of the window displays, which are always GORGEOUS. I'm telling you, they have amazing taste. And it showed in Kayla's pictures.

Kayla, have an awesome last few weeks of your senior year! Kayla and Stacey, I had an awesome time running around with you both! I can't wait to show you all that we got!

Mud, Goats, and Gorgeousness

Holy cow, is this couple hot or what? I don't just mean attractiveness. They're hot physically and emotionally! There is definitely a chemistry there between DeeAnn and Steven, and it's as hot as fire! DeeAnn contacted me about doing some engagement shots for them, and I happily obliged. What photographer would say no to putting two people as beautiful and kind as these in focus through their lens?

Not only are they gorgeous, but they are FUN. They decided at one point that they wanted to hop across the railroad tracks and get into this field of gorgeous wheat growing a bold green. There we were, us girls in flip flops, and we trudged through that mud. Oh yes, we did. And while I did my best not to whine and complain, DeeAnn finally says, "Oh, to heck with it! Let's go babe!", and I am not kidding you, this woman takes off running through the field. HILARIOUS. I also have to mention that someone who loves me and whom I love, Miss Melinda, came to my rescue to hold my reflector for me. I've become so spoiled with those things! Thanks again, Melinda! You are a wonderful friend, and you truly saved the day! Steven also got to be a hero for one not-so-little goat, who got his head stuck through the fence at one of our locations. The grass is always greener, right? Well, at least it is across the railroad tracks and the goats' fence.

DeeAnn and Steven, thank you so much! I enjoyed the time with you two immensely!

Isn't her rock gorgeous?! This was taken (along with all the last three shots) at her parents' lakehouse. I LOVE this wood, even though I fought with it for 10 minutes (or so it felt like) trying to get the rings to stand up. Absolutely beautiful! Great job, Steven!

A Little Rain, A Lot of Wind and Sun, and Pipe Dreams

Seriously though, there's nothing that could ruin the beauty of these two girls. They are both gorgeous on the inside and out. They didn't complain a single bit about me dragging them all over San Angelo. Aren't they just adorable? You might recognize Kaila, my New Year Girl from this past November, and Morgan is her best friend and a cheerleader, and just as sweet as her bestie. We truthfully stayed mostly downtown, but we had a wonderful time! The girls brought their boyfriends Thomas and Justin along, as well as Morgan's mom Michelle, and I was SOOOO glad they did! Between holding the umbrella for shade and a wind block and the reflector, they were such a benefit. I even told Thomas he might just be my new assistant, but I have a feeling he'd rather spend his time with Kaila down in Houston come early fall. She's headed to U of Houston, and Morgan is headed to UT! My hubby would like Miss Morgan. (I say Wreck 'Em Tech!)

Girls, I had a lot of fun hanging with you all. I hope there are a few that you love!

What a beatiful family! Aren't these kids gorgeous?! I don't know that their parents could be more proud of them. Heather contacted me quite a while back about doing family pictures, and between the 4 kiddos, it's been nearly impossible to schedule due to extracurricular activities they are involved in, but we finally got it done! I had a great time getting to know this wonderful family. Thank you so much Heather and Tim, I hope you see some you love!

Of what I was up to after Brittney and Madison's sessions. If you don't recognize this girl, you ought to! She's been "here" before! I teamed up with my good friend Kim from KR Fotos (check out her new blog!) to take some more photos of Kamilia with her horse, Rosy. I can't tell you how thrilled I was when Kim invited me along with her for this session. Kim called me up today and asked how mine turned out, and truthfully, I hadn't really started on them (other than selecting a few I knew I wanted to edit on a piece of paper), so I grabbed one and played with it a little to give her more of an idea of what my camera caught. Here it is Kim! BTW, I used "Seventies" from Pioneer Woman's new Photoshop Elements Action Sets on this photo. (Told you you would want to get these!)

Two Beauties in an Alley

I LOVE this alley! Aren't the colors great? Pair it with two beautiful senior girls, and VOILA! Awesome photos :) Brittney and Madison were lots of fun to hang out with...lots of smiles, lots of giggles, lots of great moments! This session rocked my socks. :) Thanks so much for meeting me, and thanks Tracy and Kathy (hope these are spelled right!) for your assistance with the reflectors!

I had an incredible weekend with two lovely ladies! They are both friends of mine who went in together on a hotel room for their boudoir sessions. Aren't they gorgeous?! I'm so lucky to have such beautiful (and fairly daring and confident) friends!

To calm a few of the qualms you may have, here is a little info on my boudoir sessions. Only you and I will be in the room, unless there is someone YOU invite to join you. You can wear as much or as little as you'd like. There are several items available for purchase, including albums and calendars for your special someone. Your session is held in one of two places; the comfort of your home or an upper-floor hotel room. If you're interested in a boudoir session (or better yet, you and a friend!) or you have questions, please feel free to give me a call and we'll discuss the details!

The pictures you see in this post are pictures that both ladies have given me clearance to post.

i ♥ faces - Jumping for Joy!

Ok, can I just say how much I LOVE it when people are willing to do the crazy fun things I ask of them for a photo? I get some VERY weird looks sometimes, but it is always so funny to me when the client(s) see the image that they were NOT interested in performing, and they tell me that they LOVE it. Such is the case here. Is this an awesome picture or what? This was from a friend's wedding that I photographed, and as you can see, the bridal party was LOADS of fun. They were crazy! And even though they were crazy fun, I still got the weird looks when I asked them to jump. I love it. After a little convincing, I got them to do it not once, not twice, but THREE times. And which one turned out best? The first one. LOL. The crazy bridesmaids - the one on the far left, holding her dress down; the one in the middle, who doesn't give a rip about her dress; the maid of honor, who was standing a *little too close to the bride. The bride and groom, who both look to be levetating. And the grooms"men" - who totally took it to heart when I said, "do something wild and crazy!". The one in the middle, his facial expression is PRICELESS. Yes, definitely a wedding day favorite.

Fix-It Friday #46

Of course, here I am entering my Fix-It Friday last minute again.

My Creative Interpretation:

Well, this is the first Fix-It Friday that I have documented my steps, and call me corny, but as I worked, I put all the steps in Word so I wouldn’t forget anything (because everyone that knows me, knows my momnesia is especially horrible!). Hope you enjoy it!

1) Cropped the image to a square frame.

2) Ran Coffeeshop “Perfect Portrait” action.

3) Set Color Pop to 25%. Used black brush tool (100%) on Color Shop layer mask to take pop off of shaded portion of his face.

4) Used white brush tool (100%) on Soft Skin layer mask over skin on his face (avoiding eyes, creases around nose/nostrils, and mouth), then adjusted opacity to 50%.

5) Used white brush tool (100%) on Bright Eyes layer over irises.

6) Used white brush tool on (100%) Eye Define layer mask over irises.

7) Adjusted opacity of Bright Eyes layer to 50%.

8) Used white brush tool on Whiten Whites layer mask and adjusted opacity to 30%.

9) Turned on Sharpen layer. Adjusted opacity to 50%.

10) Flattened.

11) Ran Coffeeshop “Vintage Honey” action, and adjusted all layers to half the original opacity. Flattened.

12) Added lens flare (Filters →Render→Lens Flare…). I pulled the + to the upper left-hand corner where the sun is, and adjust the brightness to 145%.

13) Ran Cofeeshop “Butterscotch Vintage”, adjusted opacity to 90%, flattened.

14) Applied texture, Hard Light at 25%.

15) Used Rectangular Marquee Tool and selected entire image. Right-click→Feather, 100. Right-click→Select Inverse. Right-click→Fill Selection…→Contents: Use: Black, Blending: Mode: Overlay, 100%.

And there ya go!

Brodie Bug {One Week, Five Days}

World, meet Brodie. He's one of the cutest little boys I have ever seen, and just so soft and cuddly! I've known his mommy forever (or so it feels like!). And this little man knows how to keep a session exciting! Poor Brittany got spit up on, peed on, and then pooped on, but the first thing she said was, "But I just love him so much, I totally don't mind!". It was totally evident too. She and her hubby are totally and utterly in love with this handsome little dude. He had such a sweet demeanor, and didn't fuss a whole lot, especially when daddy talked to him about basketball! Daddy in general did the trick; he quickly calmed at the sound of TJ's voice. Mommy also had the special touch and cuddled just right to gently rock him back to sleep. I think I could have totally snuggled with this little guy for hours!

Baby toes are the sweetest!

Hands on i {HEART} faces!

This is my first entry in a while (excluding Fix-it Fridays)! I've missed getting to play! I haven't felt that the last few themes were "my themes", and, well, I've been a little busy with other things (such as trying to start potty training my nearly 3 year old!). But I'm excited for this entry, as I LOVE this photo from a wedding from this past September. This was definitely the most relaxed bride and groom I have photographed, and they were willing to do just about anything I asked (which, of course, is a photog's dream!

Fix-It Friday #44

Well, I can't say this was my favorite fix-it Friday. This picture has a lot of what photographers call "noise", and I must admit, it drove me crazy. I did the best I could, I fought and fought with it, and I think it turned out as best as I could get it with my capabilities. Regardless, this little girl is quite a cutie, and and I can only hope that my editing only enhanced the beauty of this precious little girl.
